About Haematology Society of Bangladesh

The Haematology Society of Bangladesh (HSB) is the successor to the Bangladesh Society of Haematology, which was established on 31 August 1999 under the visionary leadership of late Professor Mohammad Abdur Rashid — the pioneer haematologist in Bangladesh. This portal is created for registration purposes on behalf of https://hematologybd.org.

The society is officially registered as a voluntary organization at the District Social Welfare Office, Dhaka, under The Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961 (Ordinance No. XLVI of 1961). The registration number is dha-09449 (ঢ-০৯৪৪৯).

As the national representative organization for haematologists in Bangladesh, HSB is committed to advancing the field of haematology through education, research, patient advocacy, and international collaboration. Despite significant improvements in healthcare services since the country's liberation, large sections of the population still lack access to quality haematological treatment due to poverty, limited awareness, and educational gaps.

The society aims to raise public awareness of blood-related diseases, advocate for haematologists' professional dignity, and help build a strong, collaborative community of medical professionals dedicated to tackling haematological disorders in Bangladesh.
